
Meet Dr. Kara Lembo
Dr. Kara Lembo grew up in the eastern upper-pennisula of Cedarville, Michigan. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She attended Central Michigan University for her undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences and competed on the women’s track n’ field team. She has an extensive family background in dentistry. Her father, Dr. John Scherer, graduated from the Ohio State University School of Dentistry in 1974 and has a successful dental practice in Cedarville, Michigan. Her mother, Mary Scherer, is a dental hygienist in the family practice and has been practicing dental hygiene for 30 plus years. Dr. Lembo’s sister, Dr. Lindsay Montgomery, is a 2003 graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After serving a 5 year Residency at the Camp Lejeune Marine Base, has her own practice in North Carolina.
Her brother, Dr. John Scherer, is a 2007 graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine of Rochester, New York and is currently doing a three year residency at the Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Her youngest sister, Ashleigh Scherer, is a 2007 graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy for dental hygiene and is currently practicing with her parents in Cedarville, Michigan.
Dr. Kara Lembo has always had a strong desire to become a dentist while growing up in her parents dental practice and having great role models as parents, who continue to be incredible mentors in her profession. Dr. Lembo is very family oriented and enjoys biking, running, college football and boating up north in the summers.
Dr. Kara Lembo is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Women Dentists, Academy of General Dentistry and the Macomb Dental Society. Dr. Kara Lembo is consistently taking continuing education courses to keep up to date with todays technology and materials to offer her patients the best dental care and to properly educate her patients on dental health.
